Suzanne Massie, an American expert on Russian history, met Ronald Reagan on numerous occasions while he was President of the United States between 1984 and 1987. During their exchanges, Suzanne gave him some advice: "Russians like to talk with proverbs. It would be good for you to learn some of them.

She then taught him the Russian proverb "Doveryai, no proveryai" (Доверяйно проверяй) which means "Trust, but verify".

The proverb was adopted as a slogan by Reagan, who used it, repeatedly, in official meetings between the United States and the Soviet Union.

A motto with a strong history and great similarities to that of Bitcoiners "Don't trust, verify".

An advice often given, inviting you to verify the veracity of an information, the validity of a transaction, the sincerity of a project...

"Don't trust, verify" = "Не доверяй - проверяй"

An iconic phrase, translated into Russian, which we revisited in Cyrillic, embellished with a Soviet Propaganda font.
